Born in England and currently living in California, Lindsey Foggett is a self taught artist. Working with water based mediums, primarily acrylic and gouache, she works in a natural, detailed style, striving to portray not only realism, but also to capture the mood and personality of the animals. Although her subjects range from elegant egrets to playful chipmunks, her primary interest is in predators: wolves, bears, bobcats, cougars. "There’s something about these stealthy creatures that attracts me," she says. "I think it is the contrast between their agile power and the softer reality of their innate social behavior. I try to capture both aspects in my paintings."
