Loren was born in Schenectady, New York, married 46 years, has two grown children and four grandchildren.
Having worked in many mediums of art including; oil, pen & ink, acrylics and watercolor, her favorite has been watercolor. She attended BYU Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho taught by Richard Bird and has attended Snow College, in Ephreim, Utah taught by Carl Purcell. She has attended numerous workshops and classes from renowned artists which include: Tony Couch, Ron Ranson from England, Richard Bird, Carl Purcell, Gloria Miller Allen, Deanne Hally, and numerous others.
Loren is a member of the Art Museum of Eastern Idaho Art Group, The Colored Pencil Society of American, and the Idaho Watercolor Society.
Idaho Falls, Idaho has hosted the annual juried Idaho Paints Idaho show which Loren’s paintings have been accepted and is presently in the 2007 show and the top 25 paintings which will travel the state for several months. She has received purchase awards for paintings sold from the Watercolor Society Show, took second place in the juried Watercolor Society Show this year with an abstract, which also took a spectator award. This award is given by the public that visit the museum and vote for their favorite painting. Her painting of Idaho Falls 4 th of July Fireworks won the poster contest this year and was used to advertise the annual event.
oren has taught classes in oils in the past and will be teaching watercolor classes this Winter
and Northwoods Art Gallery hopes to entice Loren to Chester this summer for a show here in lovely Lake Almanor.
