"To touch and feel fiber makes my heart sing. So it is with joy that I sit at my loom and watch color and design emerge from the combination of fibers. The music I hear is the rhythm of life."
Georgia has displayed her work at many shows and exhibits in northern California. These events have afforded her the opportunity to interact with other artists and to gain knowledge from different art forms, which have in turn been an inspiration to her own work. As a member of the Conference of Northern California Handweavers (CNCH) she has had the opportunity to study with some of the finest weavers and spinners in the United States. Her formal training has included weaving, spinning and dyeing.
Georgia enjoys experimenting with various fibers on the spinning wheel and with combinations of color and texture on the loom. Many of her ideas for new weaving projects have come from simply studying the yarn and letting it guide her to new creations. She loves finding ways to combine color and texture, and is constantly trying out new ideas. Her creations have been well received by the public, and examples of her work can now be found in a number of countries around the world.
"My life experiences have brought me to where I am in my spinning and weaving career. The Lake Almanor area is a continuous source of creative inspiration that encourages me to pursue my art form with enthusiasm."
