Rod Frederick was in Chester celebrating the 4th of July with us. Rod did a meet the artist show on Saturday July 2, 2005 10:00 to 5:00, that was well attended and everyone had a great time meeting Rod, listening to his stories and marveling at his wonderful wildlife art. Rod was the special guest in our float on the 4th in the best parade in Northern California,

Celebrating the Art of the Cowboy
This former working cow horse competitor and all-around cowgirl has a lifetime of experience to call upon when putting pen to paper, oil to canvas or fire to the crown of a hat....
Rosser, who lives on a 200 acre ranch near Marysville, California, knows of what her work depicts. She is a champion in the disciplines of reined cow horse and barrel racing, and she is a vetran Rodeo Producer.
"When the work is done I want a horse person to come up to it and say, 'You know, it's perfect. The horse's conformation is really well done.' The down side is that when I paint, I become to involved in all that detail, in my opinion."

Northwoods Art Gallery Hosts Reception for Artists and Patrons of Art Around the Lake
Saturday June 25, 2005, was a beautiful summer evening here in the basin. The sky was dotted with billowing clouds and art and music were everywhere, at least at Northwoods Art Gallery.
Owner Heather Long and her staff put on a great party for all the participating artists and ticket holders for the 2nd Annual ART AROUND THE LAKE.
Great Food, compliments of Sierra Coffee and and Beverage, great deserts, lovingly prepared by the lake Almanor Culinary Academy and wine from the cellar of Glen Long, kept the guests satisified.
Bowmotion, a string trio provided a folky Americana Beat and the walls of Northwoods Gallery were hung with local artists, and artisans.
The event, which was held on Sunday is sponsored by the Lake Almanor Community Foundation, and all monies raised through ticket sales and a portion of the art sales goes to the Chester Schools Arts programs.
